The far-right has become ubiquitous in mainstream politics the world over. With the parties of the far-right in power from Argentina to the US, and with even more poised to take power in the coming years - many are being led to question what it is about capitalism that gives rise to fascism? This session will explore the ways in which the system lays the foundation for fascist politics and the reasons behind the ruling class’ embrace of it in the 21st century.
